Marion Nestle is a professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at New York University, which she chaired from 1988-2003. Her degrees include a Ph.D. in molecular biology and an M.P.H. in public health nutrition, both from the University of California, Berkeley. As a member of the FDA Food Advisory Committee and Science Board, and American Cancer Society committees she has helped to issue dietary guidelines for cancer prevention. Dr. Nestle's research focuses on the analysis of scientific, social, cultural, and economic factors that influence dietary recommendations and practices. She is the author of 'Food Politics: How the Food Industry Influences Nutrition and Health', 'Safe Food: Bacteria, Biotechnology, Bioterrorism' and the recent release, 'What to Eat.'
