When to See a Doctor

You have answered Yes to:

Do you think your seizure was caused by a medicine?


See significance of medicines and seizures if you need information to help you answer the questions below.

Review health risks that may increase the seriousness of your symptoms.

Call your health professional immediately if you answer "Yes" to the following question.

Do you think your seizure was caused by a medicine?

If your answer is Yes:

  • Do not take the next dose of medicine until you have talked with the doctor who prescribed it.
  • If you are taking a medicine that was not prescribed by a doctor, stop taking it. Call your doctor.

Call your health professional today if you answer "Yes" to any of the following questions.

Note:

If you are being treated for epilepsy, be sure to follow your treatment plan. Taking too little or too much of your medicine, abruptly stopping your medicine, or changing your medicine schedule can cause seizures and other health problems.

Yes

Has the pattern of your seizures changed since you started taking a medicine?

If you have answered "No" to the above questions, go back to Check Your Symptoms and continue to answer the questions to evaluate your symptoms.
