When to See a Doctor

You have answered Yes to:

Do you have vaginal bleeding or are passing tissue?


See significance of vaginal bleeding or passing tissue if you need information to help you answer the questions below.

Review health risks that may increase the seriousness of your symptoms.

Note:

If your doctor has given you specific instructions to follow after your delivery, be sure to follow those instructions.

Yes

Do you have severe vaginal bleeding or are passing large clots or tissue?

Call your health professional today if you answer "Yes" to any of the following questions.

Yes

Do you have moderate vaginal bleeding or are you passing small clots?

Yes

Have you had mild vaginal bleeding for longer than your doctor told you to expect?

Yes

Do you have bleeding after sexual intercourse?

If you have answered "No" to the above questions, go back to Check Your Symptoms and continue to answer the questions to evaluate your symptoms.
