When to See a Doctor

You have answered Yes to:

Do you have bruising or discoloration behind your ears, around your eyes, or under your tongue?


See significance of bruising or discoloration if you need information to help you answer the questions below.

Review health risks that may increase the seriousness of your symptoms.

Call your health professional immediately if you answer "Yes" to the following question.

Yes

Do you have bruising or discoloration behind an ear or around both your eyes that was not caused by a direct injury to your ears or eyes?

Yellow telephone logo

Call your health professional today if you answer "Yes" to any of the following questions.

Yes

Did a lot of facial bruising develop within 30 minutes of a facial injury?

Yes

Do you have jaw pain and bruising under your tongue?

If you have answered "No" to the above questions, go back to Check Your Symptoms and continue to answer the questions to evaluate your symptoms.
