What Affects the Test


Reasons you may not be able to have the test or why the results may not be helpful include:

  • The use of antibiotics before having the test.
  • A blood transfusion in the weeks before having the test.
  • Having other conditions or diseases, such as lupus, liver disease, HIV infection, or yaws.
