What Affects the Test
Reasons you may not be able to have the test or why the results may not be helpful include:
- Taking certain medicines, such as diltiazem (such as Cardizem), aspirin, corticosteroids, diuretics, or parathyroid hormone.
- Taking a lot of antacids.
- Not collecting all of your urine within the 24-hour collection period.
