What Affects the Test
Reasons you may not be able to have the test or why the results may not be helpful include:
- Urinating before (within 2 hours) of collecting a urine sample or a sample of fluid from the urethra.
- Stool with the rectal sample.
- Using antibiotics before the test.
- Douching or using vaginal creams or medicines 24 hours before the test.
