Many things can increase your risk for developing atherosclerosis
and peripheral arterial disease (PAD). These include:
- Smoking.
- High cholesterol.
- High blood pressure.
- Diabetes.
- A family history of atherosclerosis
or coronary artery disease. - A high homocysteine level.
