What other drugs will affect fentanyl citrate?


donot There are many other medicines that can cause serious medical problems if you take them together with fentanyl citrate, especially:
  • aprepitant (Emend);
  • diltiazem (Cardizem, Cartia, Dilacor, Tiazac);
  • verapamil (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan);
  • antibiotics such as clarithromycin (Biaxin), erythromycin (E-Mycin, Ery-Tab, E.E.S.), fluconazole (Diflucan), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), or troleandomycin (Tao); or
  • HIV medicines such as amprenavir (Agenerase), indinavir (Crixivan), fosamprenavir (Lexiva), nelfinavir (Viracept), or ritonavir (Norvir).

This list is not complete and there may be other drugs that can interact with fentanyl citrate. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.
