    I had tried several healthy eating plans to really improve my overall health. I recently read "THE SUGAR FIX: THE HIGH FRUCTOSE FALLOUT THAT IS MAKING YOU FAT AND SICK" by Richard J Johnson, MD with Timothy Gower. It was really an eye opener. Within 3 weeks of the 2 week low fructose food plan I had lost 10-12 pounds just by eating fructose free or low fructose foods which takes some planning) and consuming low fat or fat free foods. The fructose free or low fructose phase gets your fructose enzymes under control. Now, if I eat something with too much sugar or high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients, it doesn't make me feel very good. I do not crave sweets. Food shopping takes a little longer because of label reading, but its worth it since in the past 10 years I have had breast cancer, 2 strokes, mitral valve stenosis, mitral valve regurgitation, a hysterectomy (fall out from breast cancer), a scaphoid fracture, and a ruptured appendix resulting in peritonitis.
