Fattening Side Dishes
By Gabrielle Linzer and Christina Parrella
These miniscule eats may seem like insignificant additions to your meal, but hidden in those seemingly innocent fast-food sides are some whopping calorie counts. Sometimes bad things do come in small packages, like these 18 disastrous dishes that go overboard on acceptable daily allowances of calories (2,000), fat (65 g), and sodium content (2,400 mg).

Taco Bell Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
Calories: 290
Fat: 17g
Sodium: 830mg
You probably weren't expecting health food when you order potatoes topped with easy cheese, but this side could send the calories in your fiesta over the top. You might want to opt for a few chips dipped in salsa to complement your tacos instead.

Quizno's Snickerdoodle Cookie
Calories: 400
Fat: 16g
Sodium: 280 mg
Eating this sugary, peanuty cookie after your Quizno's sandwich or salad will cost you 20 percent of your daily caloric intake.

McDonald's Cinnamon Melts
Calories: 460
Fat: 19g
Sodium: 370mg
After chomping down on the already high-calorie, high fat burger and fries fare from McDonald's do not go over the top with the Cinnamon Melts. Sure they look good because they're cinammony, sweet, glazed and gooey but they're actually not very healthy. We know it won't surprise you that the 460 calories, 19 grams of fat and 370 grams of sodium aren't exactly good for your diet.

Wendy's Large French Fries
Calories: 550
Fat: 26 g
Sodium: 480 mg
Fries naturally accompany a burger or chicken nuggets, but you may want to break the habit of supplementing your meal with this ketchup friendly side for your health's sake. Munching on a large side of fries will use up almost of your healthy daily calorie allowance and will prevent you from indulging in other fast food delicacies without overloading on lots of nasty calories.

Starbucks Apple Fritter
Calories: 490
Fat: 22g
Sodium: 290mg
You know when you go into Starbucks for your refreshing frappuccino you're always eyeing up the desert case, staring down the glazed donuts, the rice cakes and the apple fritter. This new side treat which looks like a lumpy, heavier donut is loaded with apples and covered in a heavy sugar glaze that holds 490 calories, 22 grams of fat and 290 mg of sodium. Plus add that on top of the calorie heavy drink you're probably consuming and your daily allowance will skyrocket.

White Castle Fish Nibblers Sack
Calories: 1090
Fat: 56g
Sodium: 2980mg
If the smell doesn't send you running for the hills, the calorie and sodium count should. It's one thing if you delight in White Castle's miniature burgers, but it's another to add on a sack of these deadly bites from the sea. If you're dying for fish, a baked option, or just about any option, would be a better choice.

KFC Biscuit
Calories: 220
Fat: 11 g
Sodium: 640 mg
This two-bite treat is flaky and delicious, but packs a lot more unhealthy stuff than should be in something so compact. The amount of calories in this miniscule biscuit almost equals that of an entire larger side dish. If you're looking to indulge in evil, this won't be your most fulfilling option.

Au Bon Pain Rosemary Garlic Breadstick
Calories: 180
Fat: 5g
Sodium: 710mg
The Rosemary Garlic breadstick sounds like a good side snack especially if you're eating a big salad or soup, but not only will it give you garlicky breath, it'll wreck your diet, especially because you'll probably munch on more than one.

If you go to www.douglass.com. This doctor seems to know what he is talking about he says it is okay to eat meat and the fat on meat but if you want to lose weight lay off the carbohydrates, such as bread, potato, pasta etc. I get his news letters he seems to make since and is always putting down, the food manufactures. Did you know that raw milk is better than pasturized? When they pasturize it they boil it and take out all the vitamins. There is even this family that raised their son on raw milk and he is so healthy. He says that mother nature fixes it so cows milk doesn't have bacteria in it, look at the baby cows they are healthy. You can get raw milk at a health food store, it even tastes better. You should get WC Douglass newsletter it is free on-line. He is a Doctor.

Some interesting new research by a doctor has identified several species of parasites and a specific type of goopy plaque that if left in your bowels makes you fat, bloated, developing a pouch and spare-tire belly. This is the cause of peopleâs obesity -- fortunately, this research also reveals how to stop it. It further explains that the same cause of why people get fat is also the same reason why people eventually get sick and die prematurely -- often cutting off years from their lives (not to mention the quality of their lives).People who flush these parasites out, often report rapid weight losses up to 100 lbs or more -- and without changing a single thing about their diets. Not that you need to lose anywhere near that amount... but it does prove how well it works. For more information please visit http://www.thefatlosssecret.blogspot.com/

Yes, for the millionth time, we get it. Daily warnings about the evils of tasty food. I agree with the prior poster. Eat in moderation. Don't go crazy with this stuff. Eat what you feel like eating, but get exercise too. That's basic.

Snickerdoodles don't have any peanuts in them. They are flavored with cinnamon and sugar. Just goes to show you that some "Experts" don't know everything! All the items picked are obviously high in fat. Anything that contains the word "creamed, cheesy, or cookie" is bound to be fat packed! This whole thing is getting out of hand. Exercise and eat in moderation, and when youâve been good and have a cookie now and then if it makes you feel good. Geez!

America is going don the tubes. eatting fattening food should be your choice, unlike what the government is doing, making the fast food places change there food ingredients ... >_> there is less and less freedom every year. if i want to eat a freaking cupcake at lunch in school, there not going to stop me... how much ya want to bet there going to start messuring kids at school, because "They can't take care of themselfs". Government to the rescue to save all the helpless victoms who can't take care of themselfs!!!
