What You Can Eat on the 3-Hour Diet
By Karen Asp
While on the 3-Hour Diet, you'll eat a healthy balance of carbohydrates (bagels, fat-free waffles, English muffins), protein (hummus, lentils, salmon, chicken), fat (almonds, flax oil) and vegetables or fruit at each meal. Fitness pro and author Jorge Cruise lists food suggestions for each category along with snack ideas. And while all of the items include proper portion sizes, nothing is totally off limits, which means you can still enjoy cheese, steak, potato chips, ice cream, chocolate, and even the occasional alcoholic beverage. If you're not using his extensive food lists to create a meal, you can follow the pre-made meal ideas, which offer suggestions from menu items at popular restaurant chains like Boston Market, McDonald's and Taco Bell. Cruise also offers a fair number of easy-to-make recipes such as stuffed green peppers and tofu stir fry.
