Persistent nausea
Persistent nausea
Many things can cause persistent nausea. Persistent nausea may cause loss of appetite, and you may naturally eat less and lose weight.
Possible causes of persistent nausea include:
- The effects of stress or an emotional situation.
- The side effects of a medication, such as an antibiotic or heart medication.
- Pregnancy.
- Traveling to a high altitude.
- Anxiety or depression.
- A problem with the digestive tract, such as an irritation, inflammation, infection, or a digestive disorder.
- A problem with the heart, lungs, kidney, or liver.
- Cancer.
Call your doctor for an evaluation if you have ongoing persistent nausea, loss of appetite, or unexplained weight loss.
