Other conditions with symptoms similar to Rh sensitization during pregnancy
Other conditions that occur during pregnancy that cause symptoms similar to Rh sensitization include:
- Problems caused by incompatibility with other blood type factors.
- Fetal infections such as parvovirus B19, also known as fifth disease. Parvovirus B19 can be passed from a mother to her fetus and causes many of the same effects as Rh sensitization.
- Internal bleeding, which can cause the fetus to lose a large amount of blood and result in problems similar to those seen during Rh sensitization.
