Symptoms of Dupuytren's disease are sometimes similar to those experienced with other conditions. Your health professional will most likely be able to determine from a physical examination whether you have Dupuytren's disease.
Conditions with symptoms similar to those of Dupuytren's disease can generally be grouped into the following categories:
- A condition in which a person finds it difficult to bend or straighten the finger called trigger finger
- Occupation-related injuries, such as calluses or damage to tissues, muscles, or tendons
- Rheumatoid arthritis conditions, which inflame the membranes or tissues lining the joints
- Growths in the muscle, joint, bone, or tissue that may be cancerous (malignant) or noncancerous (benign)
