Medical history for developmental dysplasia of the hip

If your baby is being evaluated for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), you will be asked whether:

  • Other family members have had DDH.
  • Your baby was born with his or her buttocks first (breech).
  • You swaddle your baby or use a cradle board.
  • You have noticed that one of your baby's legs is shorter than the other.
