Fever and breathing problems in a child
Fever and breathing problems in babies and young children may mean a serious respiratory infection is present. Symptoms may include:
- Difficulty breathing.
- Grunting.
- Wheezing.
- Barking cough.
- Drooling or a sore throat with difficulty swallowing.
- Bluish skin color (cyanosis).
A child who has a fever and any trouble breathing needs immediate medical care.
